Do you have any career highlights?
Working in Malaysia during its historic first change of government in over 60 years in 2018. At the High Commission, we were reporting information back to Canberra to shape Australia’s policy response, solidifying relationships with the new government and working to support Malaysia’s electoral, parliamentary and gender reform efforts. I was the Visit Coordinator for a subsequent visit by the then Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. Meeting Prime Minister Mahathir following his election was also fascinating – he had taken up the position again at 93 years old, having been Prime Minister for another political party from 1982-2003.
What are your future plans?
Hopefully another posting, but I’m enjoying being in Australia for now.
What are your memories of Kilvington?
I’m really lucky to still have a strong group of friends from my time at Kilvington, we’ve stayed in touch despite being located in different cities. I really admire them – they’ve all followed completely different career paths and are doing incredibly well.
